Cheryl A. Malaski Ashton, 62, of Monongahela, died Friday, March 17, 2017, in her home. Born Dec. 23, 1954, in New Eagle, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Sedor Malaski. A graduate of Monongahela High School, Cheryl was working as a nurse’s aide for SPHS Human Services in Charleroi. A member of the Monongahela Elks Lodge No. 455, she enjoyed making and decorating ceramics and most of all she enjoyed taking care of all her animals. Surviving are a son, David Ashton Jr., (Jacqueline Summers) of Charleroi; four grandchildren, Stephanie MacFarlane, Haley, David III and Jensen Ashton; a great-granddaughter; two brothers-in-law, Jim (Cheryl) Burgoyne and Gary Burgoyne; three sisters-in-law, Marjorie and Deanna Burgoyne and Valerie Ashton all of Monongahela; all of the Sedor family and many loving cousins, aunts and uncles. Friends will be received at the MARSHALL MARRA FUNERAL HOME, 216 Chess St., Monongahela 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. At the family’s request interment will be private.
