Ruth E. Wilson, 81, of West Newton, died Wednesday, April 12, 2017. She was born April 29, 1935, in Elizabeth Township, a daughter of the late Wilbur and Gertrude Opher Sommerville. Ruth was a member of First Baptist Church, West Newton, the Red Hat Society, and was an avid bowler. Surviving are two children, Ace D. Wilson Jr., and wife, Carol, of Greensburg, and Arlene Evans and husband, Denny Sr., of West Newton; five grandchildren, Billy Van Divner and wife, Casey, Laura Van Divner, Denny Evans Jr., and wife, Maura, Cassandra Stewart and husband, Josh, and Sam Myers and wife, Lisa; three great grandchildren, Charlotte Rose Evans, and Brenden and Tyler Myers; a brother, Wilbur Sommerville, Jr., and wife, Colleen, of Elizabeth; a sister, Helen Sue Dolan of Hope Mills, S. Carolina; a sister-in-law, Madeline Oblak of West Newton; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Ace D. “Butch” Wilson; a daughter, Ruth “Sissy” Van Divner; sisters, Louise Ferguson and Shirley Sommerville; and a brothers, Paul and James Sommerville. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the J. WILLIAM MCCAULEY JR. FUNERAL HOME INC. 901 Vine St. West Newton, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday.
