George Melvin Maksa, 88, of Lisle, Ill., previously of Belle Vernon, passed away on May 9, 2017. He was born on Aug. 14, 1928, son of the late George and Ann Derzy Maksa. He was a long-time employee of General Electric in Chicago, Ill. He was the beloved husband of the late Bernice Fontanetta and the late Rosemary; loving father of Brian (Jennifer) and the late Thomas; devoted grandfather of David (Tammy) Maksa, Katherine (Ryan) Jaffe and Nicholas Maksa; dearest great-grandfather of Dylan and Delaney Maksa, and Cameron Jaffe. He also leaves behind two loving sisters, Joan (William) Picchiarini, and Jean (Thomas) Patterson of Belle Vernon; and many neices and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Ethel (Earl) Dunkerly, Betty (Thomas) Mayernik and Evelyn (George) Adams. Funeral services were held on Friday, May 12, 2017, at BLAKE-LAMB FUNERAL HOME, 5015 Lincoln Ave., Lisle, Ill. Interment was held at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hillside, Ill.
