Kevin E. Petticord, 44, of Monongahela, died Wednesday, July 12, 2017 after a brief illness. Born March 21, 1973, in McKeesport, he is the son of Glenn E. and Lynn Y. Prolenski Petticord of New Eagle. Kevin was a 1991 graduate of Ringgold High School. Following his graduation he attended Triangle Tech and then received his master’s degree in plumbing from the Mon-Yough Plumbing School in 2001. He was the owner, along with his father, Glenn, of Quick Response Heating, Plumbing and Air Conditioning in New Eagle. He was a member of St. Damien of Molokai Parish in Monongahela, Carroll Township American Legion Post No. 949 and the Mariners Fishing Club. Most of all, anyone who knew Kevin knew how much he loved to fish, especially in Lake Erie and in bass tournaments around the country. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Renee L. Berniak Petticord, whom he married March 21, 1998; son, Zachary M. “Zee” Hodgson of Monongahela; his two loving dogs, Lila and Onyx; his brother, Brandon Petticord Sr. of Pittsburgh; maternal grandfather, Charles “Cajun” Thompson of New Eagle; a nephew, Brandon Petticord Jr. of New Eagle; his mother-in-law, Patricia G. Berniak of Monongahela; his brother-in-law, Brett T. Berniak (Lori Carroll) of Monongahela; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral prayers will begin in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2017, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial that will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Damien of Molokai Parish with Father William Terza as Celebrant.
