Lester L. Wolfe, 77, of Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 16, 2017, in Mon Valley Hospital. A son of the late Mary Pohlot and Lester L. Wolfe, Sr., he was born in Monessen, on May 31, 1940. A resident of Belle Vernon for most of his adult life, he was a 39-year member of the Rehoboth Presbyterian Church and a member of the West Newton Center for Active Adults, the F. & A.M. Lodge 615, Charleroi, the Men’s Breakfast Club of the Pricedale Union Church, was a former member and treasurer, of the Monessen Kiwanis Club and formerly served on the board of directors of the Charleroi Rainbow Girls. He was passionate about gardening, yardwork, reading and playing with his cats, Pebbles and Buttons. Along with his father and brother, he owned and operated the Arco Stations in Webster and Monessen in the 50s, 60s and 70s. He worked for 10 years at the former Volkswagen Plant in New Stanton and then retired after 21 years from the Clairton Plant of U.S. Steel Company. Lester, and his wife, fostered thirteen children in the 1990s. Survivors include his wife, Melba Jean Isaho Wolfe, with whom he celebrated 52 years of marriage on Jan. 30, 2017; one daughter, Melanie (Monica) Wolfe of State College; four sons, Keith Wolfe of Washington, Pa., Richard Wolfe of Belle Vernon, Jeremy Wolfe of Peters Township, and Stephen (Marissa) Wolfe of Pittsburgh; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Janis Reece of Monessen, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Wolfe.
