Clara Lee Manown, 90, of Belle Vernon, passed away Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. A daughter of the late James W. and Grace Vogel Nelson, she was born in North Belle Vernon on Sept. 23, 1926. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, she was a member of Lynnwood Lutheran Church and enjoyed playing cards with her friends and grandchildren. Lee was a manager at Hallmark’s House of Cards in Rostraver Township, and prior to her retirement in the early 1990s, was a district manager for Hallmark. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Daryle Ruby of Ocean City, Md., Cheryl and David Belowich of Renfrew, and Cindy and James Geikler of Bethel Park; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Jeanie Nelson of Belle Vernon; seven grandchildren, Craig Ruby of Eighty Four, Colin Ruby of Newnan, Ga., Melissa Schaal of McDonald, Sean Belowich of Sewickley, Brian Belowich of Grove City, Brendan Geikler of Savannah, Ga., and Christopher Geikler of Bethel Park; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack H. Manown on July 9, 1998, a sister, Mildred Baker and a brother, Robert Nelson.
