Paul Acton, 79, of Monongahela, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017, in the Lexington Medical Center, West Columbia, S.C. He was born March 2, 1938, in Monongahela, son of William and Hanna Tollan Acton. Paul was a retired master machinist from U.S. Steel, Irvin Works and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He loved taking trips with Retta “Dolly”, watching John Wayne movies and sitting on the front porch and was a very active member of the local AARP. He is survived by four sons and four daughters, Kelley Wilson and her husband, Gruter, Shawn Acton and his wife, Krystal, Erin Lambert and her late husband, Vince, all of Columbia, S. C.; Rodney Dunmeyer and his wife, Kathy, of Donora, Orrin Dunmeyer and his wife, Audrey of Monessen, Tammy Bright and her husband, Harry, of Virginia Beach, Va., Sandy Atkins and her husband, Ron, and Joey Laski, all of Monongahela; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Retta “Dolly” Acton, who died Oct. 30, 2012. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, 2017, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, with the Rev. William Lytle officiating. Interment will follow in Mon Valley Memorial Park, Donora.
