Michael D. Costello, 70, of Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, died suddenly Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017, at Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. Born April 5, 1947, in North Charleroi, he was the son of the late Michael “Ike” and Ann Simensky Costello. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Mr. Costello was Catholic by faith and was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he served in the U.S. Navy. Mike was retired from Three Rivers Marine, Belle Vernon, where he worked as a Mechanic, was a life member of Rostraver Central Volunteer Fire Department, was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirate fan, enjoyed fishing and most of all spending time with his family and granddaughters. He is survived by his wife, Janice Hillman Costello, to whom he was married 47 years; son and daughter-in-law, Michael Aaron Costello and wife, Akemi, of Woodbridge, Va.; daughter, Melissa Costello of Meadville; two granddaughters, Janna Riva and Fiancé Dakota Ball, Nicole Dewitt; and a sister & brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Nick Plevel of Belle Vernon. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME & CREMATIONS, Family Owned and Operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, 724-929-6183. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Parzynski Funeral Home & Cremations with the Rev. Francisco R. Gan Jr. Pastor of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church officiating. Interment will take place in Mon Valley Memorial Park. Members of the Rostraver Volunteer Fire Department will conduct services at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
