Margaret Bertha Prihode Pepka, 94, of Monongahela (Victory Hill), died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, in her home. She was born Oct. 4, 1923, in Monongahela, daughter of Joseph J. and Margaret Hobaugh Prihode. A lifelong resident of Victory Hill, Mrs. Pepka was a graduate of Monongahela High School, Class of 1942. She was a member of St. Damien of Molokai Parish in Monongahela, and for over 25 years, a member of the Mon Valley Hospital Auxiliary. Family was of the utmost importance to her. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother who took pride in giving to others. Mrs. Pepka was a homemaker who loved to work in her flower garden, bake and cook for her family. She is survived by her son, Butch Pepka, and daughter, Linda Pepka Zywan, both of Carroll Township; two granddaughters, Alexis Zywan of Finleyville, Nadia Zywan Seesock of Florida; great-granddaughter, Tessa Seesock of Florida; two sisters, Dorothy Elkin of Texas and Betty Vrable of Donora. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Francis Peter Pepka, who died on Nov. 7, 2001; her son-in-law, David P. Zywan, who died June 6, 2016; a brother, Richard Prihode and sister, Irene Crompton. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 W. Main St., Monongahela. Funeral prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Damien of Molokai Church with the Rev.
