Francis J. Baumgardner, 83, of Monessen, passed away Feb. 13, 2018, at Southwestern Healthcare, Pittsburgh. He was born on March 12, 1934, in Nanticoke, Pa., son of the late Norman and Mary Miszczuk Baumgardner. He was a graduate of Rostraver High School. Francis worked as a machinist for Halmar Machine of Bethel Park. He was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church and the Croatian Club, a co-owner of The Gibson Seven Hunting Club and a was a U.S. Army veteran. Francis is survived by his loving spouse, Gail Francis Baumgardner; a daughter, Karen (Shawn) Reed of Coraopolis, Pa.; a son, Eric Baumgardner of Annandale, Va.; a grandson, Omar Baumgardner; a granddaughter, Olivia Baumgardner; a sister, Veronica Matson of Belle Vernon; a brother, David (Nancy) Baumgardner of Canonsburg; and a stepbrother, John (Joyce) Wassilchak. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Stone. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at ROBERT A. BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC., Grand Boulevard and Marion Avenue, Monessen. A blessing service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Robert A. Billick Funeral Home Inc., followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass in Epiphany of Our Lord with Father Michael J. Crookston officiating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
