Margaret A. ‘Marge’ Dzimiera – Hollidaysburg, formerly of Monessen

Margaret A. “Marge” Dzimiera, 94, passed away Feb. 8, 2018, at UPMC Altoona after complications of the flu. Margaret was born in Monessen and was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna Hromey Sinchak. On June 13, 1972, Margaret married Peter C. Dzimiera and he preceded her in death. Surviving are her two sisters, Regina Feryok of Monessen and Marian Monios of Altoona; and many nieces, especially Meg Clevenstine of Altoona and Michele DeFrancisco of Hollidaysburg; as well as nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and their wives, Steve (Betty) Sterback of Monessen, Stanley (Mary Harmon) of Homestead and Samuel (Yvonne Baldwin) of Caro, Mich.; a brother-in-law, Joseph Feryok; and two nephews, Michael Sinchak of Pittsburgh and Gerald M. Sinchak of Caro, Mich. Margie attended the Most Holy Name of Jesus Church and School in Monessen and Monessen High School. She had worked at Santone’s Restaurant in Charleroi and Drizos Cleaners in Monessen. Margie enjoyed all crafts, including ceramics, painting, crocheting and knitting, all flowers, dancing and singing; her two favorite songs were “Que Sera, Sera” and “You Are My Sunshine.” She loved dogs and her dog Princey brought her great joy for 12 years. Going to the senior center was her daily enjoyment. She loved to travel with family, especially with her sister Marian. She moved to Hollidaysburg in September of 1999 due to health issues and to be near her sister Marian. On Dec. 1, 1999, Margie suffered a major stroke. She then became a resident of Garvey Manor Nursing home in Hollidaysburg. Her Catholic faith was her strength and residing at Garvey with the kind, compassionate, skilled, loving staff and the Carmelite Sisters proved beneficial for her recovery and longevity. She was able to attend daily Mass at Garvey and enjoy all programs and activities offered. She loved her sister Marian and will be eternally grateful for all the love, care and concern she had for all of her life. Friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at Epiphany of Our Lord Church, 44 Pennsylvania Blvd., Monessen, where a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in memory of Margaret, followed by interment in Holy Name Cemetery. ROBERT A. BILLICK FUNERAL HOME INC., www.billicksfuneralhome.com, has been entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Garvey Manor, 1037 S.
