Rostraver Central Fire Department crews were called to Westmoreland Waste Sanitary Landfill on Connor Lane in Rostraver Township Saturday night to extinguish a fire and investigate its cause, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page. “Crews discovered a fire on the landfill face that was extinguished with the assistance of heavy equipment,” the post states. Rostraver Central did not respond to requests for further comment prior to presstime.
