Charleroi VFD eyeing community alert system

The Charleroi Volunteer Fire Department is seeking community input on the development of an emergency alert system for the greater Charleroi area.

The alert system, through Comcast, would supplement weather, Amber and other emergency alerts that are currently in place through cellphone companies. Amber alerts are issued for child abductions.
