Editorial: Monessen doesn’t need absentee public officials
There was a fresh spirit in the air at last week’s meeting of Monessen City Council.
Lois Thomas was sworn in as the newest council member, providing a quorum that enabled the panel to address city business for the first time in three months. Instead of bickering and name calling, there was an atmosphere of cooperation and civic duty as council worked its way through a huge backlog of important matters.
