Charges in accident that led to amputation

A West Newton man is accused of causing an accident that resulted in the amputation of his girlfriend’s arm.

State police at the Uniontown barracks on Saturday charged Jamie Lee Converso, 35, of Wachs Road with aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI, DUI – high rate of alcohol, DUI – controlled substance, DUI – combination of alcohol/drugs, careless driving and reckless driving.
