Zappala unveils security cameras, praises McKeesport schools as pioneers

Allegheny County’s lead prosecutor highlighted Mc-Keesport Area School District during a press conference Tuesday at the county courthouse that discussed the use of high-definition security cameras to protect educational institutions and their surrounding neighborhoods.
District Attorney Stephen A. Zappala Jr. said the district is “serious” and “genuine” about exploring new methods of campus security, adding that the district’s high school Founder’s Hall campus could serve as a model for how useful HD and license plate reading cameras can be in preventing a criminal act on school grounds.
