State audit criticizes Monessen School District

Monessen School District continues to struggle with financial issues, according to a recent performance audit by state Auditor General Eugene DePasquale.

In a statement, DePasquale said late financial statements and reports have caused the district to put its own financing and credit ratings at risk –which is “not a fiscally responsible way to run a school district.”
