Glassport OKs Declaration of Emergency due to landslide

The remnant rains of Tropical Storm Gordon caused another landslide in Glassport, forcing its mayor to declare an emergency and council to hold a meeting with an engineering firm.
The Declaration of Emergency, which was approved by council, gives the borough an extra 30 days to come up with a county-approved plan to stabilize the portion of Oregon and Pacific avenues and the hillside that slipped the morning of Sept. 10.
