Valley squads ready for battle in quarterfinals

The WPIAL boys soccer quarterfinals kick off tonight and two local teams will be paired together for the second straight round.

Unbeaten Charleroi, the Section 3-2A champions and fourth seed, will face No. 5 South Park at Peters Township in a 6 p.m. game. Immediately following the Cougars will be Class 3A No. 4-seed Ringgold taking on No. 12 Thomas Jefferson, who upset No. 5 Blackhawk, 2-1, in the first round. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. for the second game of the doubleheader.
