Fewer than a dozen Mon Valley residents showed up for ArcelorMittal’s Monessen Community Meeting held Thursday night at Monessen High School.
The company will be holding two meetings per year for the next few years, according to Division Manager Randy Shelton Sr. The purpose is to update local residents on operations that are taking place at the Monessen Coke Plant, what the company is doing to meet federal Environmental Protection Agency and state Department of Environmental Protection standards and so the company executives can learn what concerns residents and employees have.
