EQT pays $294K drainage fine

EQT Production Company has paid $294,000 in fines for Clean Streams Law violations in Allegheny County after puncturing an abandoned mine in 2017 that led to the discharge of drainage into the Monongahela River.
Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protection announced Tuesday that EQT has paid the civil penalty prescribed in a consent order and agreement signed Nov. 6.
