Elizabeth borough holds line on taxes
“Merry Christmas to our residents.”
That’s the message Elizabeth borough Mayor Barry Boucher had for residents after council unanimously passed a 2019 budget that holds the line on real estate taxes.
Taxes in the borough have remained at 8 mills for at least a decade. A new levy was introduced last year to designate 0.5 mills in revenue for a fire tax, which generated about $18,000 for the borough’s volunteer fire company.
