Ex-chief charged with stealing drugs

Elizabeth Borough’s former police chief, who is accused of abusing his role to steal countless stamp bags of heroin from the evidence room, turned himself in Thursday.

Charges were filed yesterday against Tim Butler, 42, of Finleyville by Allegheny County Detective Lyle Graber, two days after council unanimously accepted his resignation.
