Greyhounds’ rally falls short in two-point loss to Avella

Monessen nearly overcame a 13-point deficit Thursday, but fell short in its attempt to win its second straight game as Avella prevailed, 44-42, in Section 2-A play at Monessen High School.
Avella’s Brianna Jenkins scored on a layup with 24 seconds left to give the Eagles (4-1, 2-0) a two-point cushion.
