Smithton man accused of attacking Washington Township police

A Smithton man accused of attacking police after fleeing the scene of a Washington Township vehicle accident is in jail.
Joseph Michael Ballough, 36, of Skyline Drive was arraigned Sunday before Magisterial District Judge Richard Kasunic II in Perry Township on charges of aggravated assault, resisting arrest, obstruction of administration of the law or other government function, disorderly conduct, loitering and prowling at night time, DUI, public drunkenness, careless driving, speeding and failure to notify police of accidents or damage to a vehicle.
Washington Township police responded around 2:45 a.m. Sunday to the scene of a one-vehicle accident at the intersection of Mikula and Rehoboth roads, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
