The Elizabeth Township Board of Commissioners will operate under new leadership in 2019.
The board voted 5-2 in favor of naming Andrew Kuzma, commissioner in Ward 3, as the new board president.
Commissioners Chris Evans, Kyle Walk, Jane Blake-Kerin, Rob Rhoderick and Kuzma voted in favor of the motion, while Donald Similo and Joanne Beckowitz were opposed.
“I just want to say thank you to the commissioners who elected me as your president and thank you to everyone in the audience,” Kuzma said. “We have 13,000 people that live in the township and we have 30 that decide to come to these meetings to be involved, figure out what is going on in this township and try to help, so I appreciate you all for being here. I am going to do the best job I possibly can and I will not let you down.”
