Slippage still an issue in Donora

Donora officials are still working to stop slippage on the hillside at the former illegal Pine Alley dump site.
The Department of Environmental Protection reached out last month to see if the borough had planted vegetation on the slope, to prevent the hillside from slipping.
Borough administrator John Bedner told council during a workshop meeting that he referred the DEP to a former report that indicated the current makeup of the hillside is not conducive to planting anything.
Mike Petrosky, the borough’s road superintendent, said there is a clear crack on the hillside, outlining the slippage.
