Magisterial District Judge Mark Wilson has successfully completed a mentoring program and a state conduct case against him has been dismissed.
A complaint was filed by the Judicial Conduct Board in March 2017, alleging that Wilson mishandled a private criminal case involving Monongahela Mayor Bob Kepics more than six years ago.
The board also claimed Wilson improperly jailed defendants who should have been released pending hearings.
In March 2018, the conduct board granted Wilson’s request to enter the Judicial Diversion Program and appointed Canonsburg Magisterial District Judge Jay Weller to act as Wilson’s counselor and mentor “to help resolve issues present in this case.”
“This is not an admission of guilt and Judge Wilson maintains his innocence,” Wilson’s attorney, Christopher Carusone said at the time. “Rather, it is an alternative to the disciplinary process for judges with no record of prior discipline where the Court determines that education instead of discipline is appropriate.”
