Bill Russell will never forget when he first saw blood in his urine in 2010. Because he was busy with tax season, he didn’t immediately seek medical help. When he did, he learned he had bladder cancer.
“Just about everyone in my family had died of cancer, so it wasn’t any real big shock to me that I was being diagnosed with cancer,” Russell said. “But I had never heard of bladder cancer before.”
While he’s been through some bleak times since then, Russell smiles these days, as he’s been doing well and helping others struggling with bladder cancer through the organization Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network.
