Tigers extend win streak to five with victory over Yough

McKeesport used a big first quarter effort to topple Yough, 68-19, and claim its fifth straight victory in Section 3-4A play Thursday night.
The Tigers (8-5, 6-2) outscored the Cougars, 39-2, in the first quarter and held a commanding 54-7 lead at halftime. McKeesport went on to outscore Yough, 14-12, in the second half.
Nevaeh Stepanik led the way with 14 points for the Tigers while Jhayla Bray and Emma Elash finished with 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Yough (3-12, 0-8) was led by Jordan Pater, who scored 11 of its 19 points.
