Elizabeth theater to screen “INVISIBLE HAND”
By the Mon Valley Independent
A pre-release screening of a documentary following a Pennsylvania community’s fight against oil and gas corporations and state government will be shown at 7 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Grand Theatre in Elizabeth.
“INVISIBLE HAND” is a documentary from award-winning directors Josh Pribanic and Melissa Troutman. Oscar-nominated actor Mark Ruffalo signed on as an executive producer. It is his third film project alongside Pribanic and Troutman.
The film follows Grant Township in Indiana County, which adopts a home rule charter to ban injection wells to protect themselves from radioactive fracking waste, a press release states.
The charter elevates citizens’ rights above the rights of corporations and prevents state government from controlling local decisions.
