Two Mon Valley school districts have received a combined $30,000 in grant money to ensure innovative education programs for students thanks to Chevron Appalachia.
In an effort to expand support of Project Lead The Way programs, the company announced Tuesday that $1 million in grants will soon be awarded to 24 school districts in southwestern Pennsylvania, northern West Virginia and eastern Ohio, two of which are in the Mon Valley.
Belle Vernon Middle and High Schools will each receive $10,000 and Brownsville Elementary School will receive $10,000.
PLTW is a nonprofit organization that provides transformative learning experiences for PreK-12 students and teachers through curriculum and professional development in computer science, engineering and biomedical science.
