Icy conditions landed one firefighter in the hospital following a triple house fire in Donora Tuesday morning.
Emergency crews responded just before 3:30 a.m. to the 900 block of Thompson Avenue for a structure fire with possible entrapment.
When firefighters arrived on scene, they discovered homes on either side of the initial structure were compromised, with flames spreading through the upper floors of both rapidly.
Donora firefighter Tom Fronzaglio said all three homes were occupied at the time, but all residents made it out safely.
