Lavina ‘Viney’ Ackinclose – Jefferson Township

Lavina “Viney” Ackinclose, 99, of Jefferson Township, Fayette City, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019, in Country Care Manor, surrounded by her family. She was born Aug. 9, 1919, in Lowber, Fayette City, the daughter of James Salyers and Hazel Sethman Salyers. She was a member of the Little Redstone Presbyterian Church, president of the True Blue Class, stitcher in the Quilting Club, deacon and elder and taught Sunday School at the church. She worked the election Polls in Jefferson Township for 25 years. Viney worked at Rock’s Dept store in Charleroi and also Crampo’s Restaurant in Belle Vernon. Viney and her late husband, Harold, enjoyed camping and she made quilts for everyone in the family. The family would like to thank the girls at Country Care Manor and the staff of OSPTA for their compassionate care of Viney. She is survived by her son, Harold James Ackinclose and wife Leah of Fayette City; daughter, Janet Raye Ackinclose Smith and husband Larry of Dawson; four grandchildren, Karen Cox and husband Blair, Lori Shenal and husband John, Lisa Marie Lynch and husband John and Larry D. Smith; seven great-grandchildren, Ashley, Caleb and Joshua Cox, Emma and Julia Shenal, Heather Sharratt and husband Justin and Dylan Lynch; sister, Dorothy Anderson and husband Wayne of Fayette City and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Harold E. Ackinclose and brother, Albert Salyers. Family and Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, at ELEY-MCCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC., 334 Main St., Fayette City, www.eleymccroryfuneralhome.com. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019, at the funeral home with Pastor Joshua Skully officiating. Interment will follow in the Little Redstone Methodist Cemetery, Fayette City.
