A Rostraver Township landlord avoided arrest this week by paying more than $23,000 in fines to multiple Washington County municipalities.
Debra Hardy, owner of A & F Real Estate of Belle Vernon, became the subject of 69 bench warrants alleging a lack of upkeep on 10 properties in Bentleyville, Cokeburg and Ellsworth. The company is listed in court documents under several aliases, including A & F Real Estate, L.P., A & F Realty, ANF Realistate and ANF Realistate LP.
Hardy, the former wife of 84 Lumber Co. founder Joe Hardy, attended a closed-door meeting Wednesday with Magisterial District Judge Curtis Thompson in Bentleyville.
A magistrate representative said the meeting, which lasted about one hour, was also attended by Hardy’s attorneys, Phillippe Melograne and Sean Logue; Bentleyville police Chief Rich Young; and solicitors from all three municipalities.
