After only six months after relocating to John K. Tener Library in Charleroi, a children’s clothing ministry has nearly doubled its outreach and has found a new home in the Magic City.
The Hands and Feet Project, a ministry providing children’s clothing and other items to children in need, was started accidentally five years ago by Belle Vernon Area High School friends Latisha Igoe and Michelle Robertson. It recently moved to 513 Fallowfield Ave. in Charleroi and had its first appointment in the new space Wednesday.
The ministry started with one bin in 2014. However, after word began to spread, Igoe’s garage began to overflow with dozens of storage bins filled with clothing from newborn through size 14/16.
Volunteers Marsha Black and Allison Kimmel got on board and outreach continued to grow, until the ministry moved to a work shed offered by House of Faith in Herminie in 2017.
