Local lawmakers like budget plan

While lawmakers from the Mon Valley are optimistic about Gov. Tom Wolf’s proposed 2019-20 budget, many have lingering concerns.
Wolf presented a $34.1 billion budget plan to a joint session of the Republican-controlled Legislature on Tuesday.
The plan heavily focuses on workforce development and education.
In addition to seeking hundreds of millions of dollars more for schools, Wolf outlined a plan to secure money for new voting machines, programs to improve worker training and the agricultural sector. He is also seeking new tuition aid for community college students who remain in Pennsylvania.
