Chelsey Huffman of Fallowfield Township has a soft spot for all animals.
So it was no surprise last July when she jumped in to help out at a neighbor’s farm.
“Our neighbor Chris Okneski, was out of town and his dad was watching his place when a young sow went into labor,” Huffman recalled. “There were complications and he asked for help.”
The mother pig was in labor and distress. A veterinarian was called, and with the help of Huffman, one piglet was saved. The momma pig suffered complications and died that day.
