PennDOT officials weren’t able to start cleanup Thursday at a landslide on Bunola Road in Forward Township because there was more movement on the hillside.
The land moved overnight Wednesday into Thursday, sending more mud, trees and debris crashing to Bunola Road.
Forward Township police Chief Travis Stoffer estimated the debris pile is now 30 feet tall and two or three car lengths wide. The slide starts about 150 to 200 feet up the steep hillside.
There are houses at the top, but Stoffer said they’re far enough away from the hillside’s edge that they are not in danger.
