Gray Paws Sanctuary of White Oak co-founder Darla Poole Brescia isn’t much of a gambler, but said she will “gladly facilitate it for the old dogs.”
That’s why Gray Paws, a sanctuary for “senior-aged dogs,” is turning its annual anniversary celebration into a “cash bash carnival” that will be filled with casino- and carnival-style games offering cash and gift basket prizes. The event is set for 6 to 10 p.m. March 2 in the Community Room of the North Versailles Township building, 1401 Greensburg Avenue, North Versailles.
The “old dogs” Poole Brescia said the event benefits are a group of “senior-aged pooches” that she, her husband and co-founder Joe Brescia and a group of dedicated volunteers and “doggy foster parents” have taken in either as “forever home” permanent residents or as “forever foster dogs.”
For the past five years, the nonprofit sanctuary located on Jack’s Run Road (state Route 48) has rescued dogs of any breed that are 12 or more years old and were either unwanted by their families or were abandoned.
