Knoch-ed off: Spirnak, Warriors advance

Offseasons don’t really exist for Elizabeth Forward basketball standout Bri Spirnak, who led the Warriors past Knoch, 51-42, Monday in the first round of the WPIAL playoffs.
The multi-sport senior starts off the school year with volleyball season, followed by basketball in the fall before culminating by throwing the javelin during track and field season.
“There isn’t really an offseason so I just go one into another,” said Spirnak, who had a game-high 21 points in the win. “I’m always taking time before and after practices doing rehab and working with the trainers with injuries I have here and there.”
While constant workouts and practice sessions are a part of the life of an athlete, so are injuries.
