School help line gets responses

In its first month, a threat-reporting system required for all Pennsylvania schools has fielded nearly 5,000 tips.
About a third of the tips submitted via the Safe 2 Say Something program were considered serious enough to pass along to local police and school officials.
At Ringgold, Superintendent Megan Van Fossan said the district was kind of “Johnny on the spot” with this program implementation, due in part to the district’s police chief, Clayton Shell.
Van Fossan and Shell sat down together to figure things out and began training students throughout the district on how to use the Safe 2 Say Something system.
