A longtime Donora mayor is being honored as the library kicks its $1.5 million fundraising campaign into full gear.
Relatives of former Mayor Albert P. Delsandro and the A.P. Delsandro Memorial Committee have donated $1,000 to the library’s addition project.
Late last year, the library was awarded $250,000 in Local Share Account funding. Washington County Local Share Account money is generated from revenue at the Meadows Racetrack and Casino in North Strabane Township.
The planned two-story expansion, projected to cost $1.4 million, would double the library’s space, according to the board.
