Elizabeth borough is one step closer to hiring a new police chief.
A five-person panel has been established and the first round of interviews for the position will be held March 11.
“We’re moving forward with this process,” solicitor Krisha DiMascio said during Tuesday’s borough council meeting.
Last month, council unanimously passed a motion to establish a panel of interviewers for the position.
The panel consists of Elizabeth Forward superintendent Dr. Todd Keruskin, Pleasant Hills police chief Brian Finnerty, Lincoln borough police chief Richard Bosco, Allegheny County Sheriff Deputy Jason Tarap and Harry Keffer, an Elizabeth Forward resource officer and retired state trooper.
