Another landslide shuts down Bunola River Road again

A hillside in Forward Township won’t stop moving.
Bunola River Road is closed once again, just three days after it was re-opened following a Feb. 13 landslide.
More slippage Monday afternoon scattered trees and mud across the roadway.
Police Chief Travis Stoffer said Monday’s slide was smaller and not as severe as the one in February, which kept the road between Riverhill and Elkhorn closed for more than two weeks.
The closure, and the detour that comes with it, are not new for area residents who frequently use the roadway.
After the road was re-opened Friday, residents were taking guesses on social media as to when it would be closed again. They didn’t have to wait long.
