Monessen School Board will vote on the 2019-20 operating budget for the Westmoreland Intermediate Unit next week.
The proposed spending plan of $6,044,170 is about 10 percent higher than in 2018-19, which estimates revenue/expenditures at $5,492,220.
For Monessen, that means a contribution of $140,665, which is about half of what the district paid during the current fiscal year.
The budget is projecting a 2 percent increase in Act 93 salaries, with exceptions for employee salaries exceeding market reference for respective job categories, an hourly increase similar to past years for support staff and a 2 percent rise in medical and dental plan benefits, with no increases in vision.
