Mon Valley Initiative hit with lawsuit

The Mon Valley Initiative is accused of fostering an atmosphere of sexual harassment in a federal lawsuit filed last week.
A regional community development corporation based in Homestead, the Mon Valley Initiative serves residents of Allegheny, Washington and Westmoreland counties.
Attorney Sean Ruppert filed the suit March 6 in United States District Court’s Western District of Pennsylvania on behalf of former Mon Valley Initiative employee Sherman S. Jones of Pittsburgh.
According to the suit, Jones was hired in October 2017 as an administrative assistant, and was later promoted to an employment and financial coach.
