Whitlock’s floater caps Hounds’ rally

Devin Whitlock hit a game-winning shot with 13.4 seconds remaining to lift Monessen into the PIAA quarterfinals.
The Greyhounds trailed for most of Tuesday’s PIAA Class A second-round matchup with Bishop Carroll.
For a little more than 31 minutes, Monessen played catch up, trailing by as many as 10 points late in the second and third quarters.
But Dan Bosnic’s resilient group showed the word “quit” isn’t in its vocabulary.
The Hounds used a big fourth quarter comeback to claim a dramatic 63-62 victory at Greensburg Salem High School.
