Mon City officials believe Second Street slippage isn’t a public matter

Monongahela’s solicitor believes the problem of continued slippage on Second Street after a landslide in September is a private issue.
In the months since the initial landslide that destroyed a home, property owner Gretchen de Lopez has approached city council several times to ask for an update on the situation.
“This is my fifth time addressing the council,” de Lopez said Wednesday night. “From the beginning, I said I wasn’t here to sue the city.”
She said that she’s been told several times there will be an engineer’s report to explain what caused the slide.
