A preliminary hearing for a Braddock police officer accused of being under the influence of fentanyl while on duty will be held in McKeesport.
Renee Christine Jones, 28, of Illini Drive, Monroeville, is scheduled to appear before Magisterial District Judge Eugene F. Riazzi Jr. at 8:30 a.m. May 6.
She was charged Friday with DUI-drug or combination of drugs to a degree that impairs the individual’s ability to operate a vehicle, DUI-controlled substance, drug, device and cosmetic act, which has not been medically prescribed for the individual and three traffic violations.
On Jan. 30, Braddock borough police Chief Guy Collins asked Allegheny County Detectives Erick Schlarp and Thomas Michaels to help investigate whether Jones was operating a police car Jan. 24 while impaired, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
